Backyard Fun Unlocked: Our Experience with the Costco Cedar Summit Playset
If you’re a mom of energetic littles like me (my boys are 4 and 2), you know that burning off energy is a full-time job. After tons of research, we finally went with the Cedar Summit by KidKraft Playset from Costco — and let me tell you, it was so worth it.
π Heads up: This one’s only available in-store at Costco, so you won’t find a direct link online — but if you spot it at your local warehouse, grab it before it’s gone!
π§° The Setup: Not for the Faint of Heart
This is a big playset — we’re talking multiple levels, two slides, a tube slide, swings, a clubhouse, and even a mini kitchen area. My husband and two of his buddies tackled it together, and it still took them two full days to get it done.
So yes, definitely a project — but once it’s up, it’s solid, sturdy, and seriously impressive.
π Why We Love It
Here’s what makes this set totally worth it in our house:
Double Slide = Double the Fun: Both my boys can slide down side by side — no fights, no waiting, just lots of giggles.
Tube Slide Adventures: The twisty tube slide is a huge hit, especially with my older son. He calls it his “secret escape tunnel.”
Swing Options for All Ages: With multiple swing styles (including one perfect for toddlers), both kids get their turn.
Cozy Playhouse Vibes: The little kitchen window is where we’ve been “served” countless pretend ice creams and berries from out garden.
π‘ Is It Worth the Space?
If you’ve got a decent-sized yard and kids under 10, this set is absolutely worth the footprint. It’s become the main attraction of our backyard.
π§ A Few Tips If You’re Considering It
π¦ Check your Costco warehouse — they go fast in spring/summer!
π Set aside 2 full days for setup (and feed your helpers well π).
𧽠Consider weatherproofing or sealing the wood to make it last even longer.
This playset has been a total win for our family. If you’re thinking about it — do it! Your kids (and your sanity) will thank you.
